This is a straight forward, easy to understand beginning beekeeper book.  It covers almost everything a new beekeeper will need to start a hive of bees or more.  It is well illustrated with both color and black & white pictures.  Many of the pictures were taken in 2009.  The author is a well respected beekeeper who is  sharing techniques which have worked over and over for other beekeepers.   He was born into a commercial beekeeping family brought up to become a commercial beekeeper only to go to college and seek a job with more financial rewards than beekeeping could provide.  However, the love of bees and keeping them was never lost.
